What the customers say;

"Nice real ale beer, which was a good pint. Had a good range of drinks available. Was sporting a new food menu, i had a sandwich that came with chips, which was a good size portion and value for money. Friendly service and would recommend this nice quiet traditional pub and visit again."

Constructed in 1742 detached of mellow Cotswold’s stone under a pitched slate roof. The internals of this property have been kept simple and uncomplicated being a fine example of “timeless living” with a strong emphasis on family values and the traditions of the village pub being at the heart of the local community. Within the “L” shaped bar (30+ vertical drinkers) there is an open stone fronted open fire to one end with a wood burning stove to the other. The ceilings are generally low and windows deep set with views over Thorpe Road towards some stone agricultural buildings. There is a traditional upright “pub piano” which we are informed provides many a winter nights entertainment for the locals. CENTRAL BAR SERVERY has a range of REAL ALE WICKETS along with bright beer pumps. High bar stools are placed to its frontage. Tables and chairs are scattered around the bar area with some fixed seating along with settees, bucket seats and seating built into the windows. Well presented LADIES & GENTS facilities are located to the opposite end of the bar to the servery.
