Wells has groomed snowmobile trails, groomed cross country ski trails, lots of mountains to cross country ski on, Bowron Lake (1/2 hour away) is also popular to go cross country skiing on or skating. Troll Ski Hill is just 20 minutes away for those who enjoy downhill skiing or snowboarding. Barkerville in winter has a tube run and in door skating rink. Wells also has an outdoor skating rink and a Curling Rink. In the spring/summer/fall months (May - October), there is lots of walking and mountain bike trails, lakes for canoeing (Bowron Lake has the world renowned canoe circuit), fishing and of course the popular Barkerville Historic Site which is only 5 minutes away and is open from mid May to end of September. We also get ATV Groups coming in to Wells on the trails. Island Mountain Arts offers a lot of courses in July and August, art, harp, music etc. and people come from all over to attend these courses. Island Mountain Arts also holds a Music Festival on the August long weekend every year.
